Basecamp Coffee Co. started with a simple complaint: every piece of "portable" coffee gear we tried was either genuinely portable and genuinely bad, or genuinely good and only useful on a kitchen counter.
So we went looking for the exceptions - hand-pumped espresso makers that fit in a jacket pocket, manual grinders quiet enough for a shared van at 6am, travel presses that make a real cup in 90 seconds flat. We test everything ourselves before it goes on the site: pack size, brew quality, and whether it survives being dropped on a trail (it happens).
Today Basecamp ships portable coffee equipment to campers, van-lifers, commuters, and desk nomads in over 60 countries. The mission hasn't changed: bad coffee shouldn't be the price of leaving the house.
